What is the Holy Royal Arch
Joining the Royal Arch is an important step in the journey of Pure Ancient Masonry. This stage, also known as the 'Chapter', is the final phase according to the Act of Union of 1813, which established the United Grand Lodge of England. It is open to any Master Mason who has held this rank for a minimum of four weeks. The Royal Arch offers a unique opportunity for companions to continue their voyage of discovery within the Order. Aspiring to become a Companion of the Order is highly encouraged, as it signifies a deep commitment to the principles and traditions of Masonry. By joining the Royal Arch, individuals can further enrich their masonic experience and gain deeper insights into the teachings and rituals of this ancient and esteemed institution.

How to Join
If you meet the requirements of being a Master Mason and have been a member for at least four weeks in a Lodge under the United Grand Lodge of England or a recognised Grand Lodge, you are eligible for admission into the Royal Arch. To begin the process, it is advisable to speak with the Lodge's Royal Arch Representative who will assist in connecting you with our Chapter. Alternatively, you can approach the Lodge Mentor or any member wearing the jewel of the Order on their Craft regalia. They will be more than happy to guide you towards membership. Alternatively, you can reach out to your local Provincial, or District Office for further information and assistance.
Our Values
Integrity
Rather than working on buildings like the masons of old, today’s Freemasons focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal.
Friendship
One of the oldest social organisations in the world, Freemasonry is not defined by an ideology. It is open to people from all religions and political persuasions and provides the common foundation for friendships between members, many of which will last for life.
Respect
With a membership of more than 150,000 people drawn from communities across the UK, Freemasonry brings people together irrespective of their race, religion or any other perceived differences that can divide us as a society.
Service
Whether participating in events, fundraising for a charitable cause or volunteering for public or community organisations, service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Our members make valuable contributions by donating time, resources and skills.
